When we began this project, this Queenslander was in poor condition with a lot of asbestos throughout. But we knew it had plenty of potential – and our client saw it too. The client was an investor and they asked us to manage a raise-and-build-under renovation that would restore this old charmer to suit a young family.
To help the client maximise their investment, we collaborated with the designer to identify ways to make the renovation more cost-effective and build within the existing floorplan where possible.
The home overlooks a park and the renovation makes the most of this location by connecting with the landscape across both levels. Upstairs, a new open-plan living area and deck provides a view over the park, and there is also a master with walk-in robe and ensuite, and 2 additional bedrooms. Downstairs, there are 2 more bedrooms, a new bathroom and a second living area that opens out to the garden for direct indoor-outdoor connection.
