Located on a large and leafy 810m2 block, this property was the perfect location for a generously sized 5-bedroom family home. To bring this vision to life, we stripped back the poorly considered additions that had been made over the years. This created a blank canvas for a renovation that upholds the character of the original pre-1946 Queenslander.
The home now has 5 bedrooms (including a master with walk-in robe and ensuite), 2 studies, kitchen with butler’s pantry and wine viewing room, open-plan living and outdoor entertaining. Existing character elements were retained and seamlessly integrated with contemporary new spaces.
In addition to the build, the client asked us to help during the design and Development Application process. We collaborated with a building designer and architect on their behalf to supply the design brief, identify cost-saving construction measures during the planning stage and pre-empt the challenges we know arise when renovating Queenslanders.
